We welcome the Advance4Growth Business Delegation – a group of deeptech companies from Norrköping Science Park, Technopol Tallinn Science Park and Cleantech Latvia – to central London for a half-day programme focusing on the UK’s innovation and investment landscape.
Throughout the programme, the participants will meet London-based investors, founders and ecosystem builders to gain first-hand insight into what they look for in new ventures, how they assess opportunities coming from abroad, and what it takes to stand out in one of the world’s most competitive tech hubs. The sessions will highlight current trends in deeptech, typical funding journeys in the UK, and concrete entry points into the London market, helping visiting companies contextualise and refine their own growth plans and ambitions.
Through a mix of presentations, panel discussions and informal networking, the delegation will hear candid lessons learned from building and scaling deeptech businesses in the UK, including practical do’s and don’ts around:

Colin is Head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Alumni Ventures, one of the world’s most active VC investors. He joined AV in 2019 and has previously served as Chief Operating Officer & President of AV’s business in the US. Colin is a business leader with 20+ years leading innovative ventures across the private, public and nonprofit sectors, including in finance, higher education, consumer goods, economic development and government. In the US, Colin served two terms as a publicly-elected executive for the state of New Hampshire. He holds an MBA from Dartmouth College and a BA in International Affairs from the George Washington University, and Colin lives in London with his wife and two teenage sons.

Phil Chambers is a Partner at Balderton Capital, one of Europe's leading venture capital firms. Prior to joining Balderton, he was CEO of Orbex, a European space company developing commercial orbital launch vehicles. Before that, Phil was CEO and co-founder of Peakon, the employee success platform acquired by Workday in 2021 for $700 million. Following the acquisition, he served as General Manager at Workday until 2023.

Fredrik Warneryd is the Chief Executive for the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK, one of the largest and most active foreign chambers in the UK. Prior to joining the Chamber, Fredrik held many leading positions in the City of London. With more than 25 years of experience within the Nordic teams of Banque Paribas, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, UBS and Credit Suisse, he has earned extensive knowledge and expertise in both the UK and Nordic markets.

Victor combines the practical power of generative AI, machine learning, and strong data foundations enabling teams to realise their full potential in the cloud.

As a patent attorney with more than a decade of experience in patent law and a strong technical background in physics and software, Michael is able to provide clear and comprehensive advice on complex patent matters in high-tech industries.
Michael's work spans patent preparation and prosecution as well as contentious matters before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and the opposition divisions and Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office. He has already been active before the UPC, and regularly advises clients on related matters, in particular on substantive law issues such as infringement and validity of European patents.
Before qualifying as a patent attorney, Michael studied physics at Imperial College London, graduating with a Master’s degree in Physics with Theoretical Physics. During his studies he focused on computational physics, which led to an ongoing interest in software development. In recent years, this technical background has been put to good use when advising on matters in the fields of optics and photonics, microfabrication, quantum computing, mechanical engineering, video gaming, and video/audio streaming.
Michael begain his career at a leading London IP firm, where he trained and qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney. In 2019 he moved to Finland, where he held a senior position at at top-tier Finnish IP firm before joining EIP in 2025. His work before the European Patent Office has been recognised in the IAM 1000 guide, where he is one of a small number of patent attorneys recommended in the EPO category. He has also been recognised by IP Stars as a “Rising Star” and “Notable Practitioner”.
