The Nordics, with their strong focus on innovation, technology, and customer-centricity, share a natural alignment with the UK’s highly advanced and innovation-driven fintech ecosystem; and I think this delegation and you being here is a testimony of this.
We've made a lot of changes in the UK, in the UK capital markets, to our regulations to enable European companies to access our markets even easier, more efficiently as well. That's happened over the past five years and that's really starting to pay fruition now, and there's a significant number of high-growth, exciting businesses in Sweden that we'd love to speak to that we really think can benefit from accessing the London Stock Exchange and helping fuel their growth in the future.
I can now say that we feel that the Nordic-UK relations is as strong as ever, and it’s also a very clear sentiment from our UK counterparties that we are in this together, and they are still very interested in business with the Nordics.
Hosting the Nordic delegation at Guildhall reflected the longstanding and trusted relationship between the UK and the Nordic region. In a period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, it was important to reinforce these ties, signal our continued partnership, and promote deeper collaboration between business leaders across our closely aligned economies.
