The Midlands region
Renowned for its rich industrial heritage, the Midlands is now at the forefront of innovation, driving progress in automotive, manufacturing, logistics, and technology. With a population of over 10 million and contributing around 13% of the UK’s Gross Value Added (GVA), the region has emerged as a magnet for international investment and innovation, with the West Midlands having established itself as the UK’s leading destination for foreign direct investment outside the capital. What makes the Midlands an attractive place to invest in the UK? And how can Swedish businesses make the most of the region’s strengths in innovation and growth?
