A Breath of Fresh Air – How Collaboration Is Improving London’s Air Quality.
Hosted by the Ambassador of Sweden.
Poor air quality is a significant public health issue for London and many cities around the world – with diesel compact machines being a major emitter of harmful pollutants. Low emission zones are acting to improve urban air quality, but within many of these regulations, construction equipment falls under the radar.
In fact, the approximately 5,000 compact diesel excavators working today in London emit the equivalent NOx and PM emissions of over 100,000 diesel passenger cars. If these machines were replaced with electric-powered alternatives, both air pollution and noise would be significantly reduced.
The solutions are already here – let’s embrace it.
