Lucia Celebrations Around the Country

Although the SCC’s Annual Christmas Luncheon is sold out there are several other Christmas traditions taking place across the country.

The Chamber’s Regional Chapters are proud to support Lucia events in Hull, Birmingham and Gateshead in December.

HULL

On Tuesday 4 December Sankta Lucia will be celebrated in Hull Minister at 7pm. The event is supported by the other Nordic Chambers as well as SCC Members including Carlbom Shipping and DFDS.

GATESHEAD

On Wednesday 12 December, members of the Anglo-Swedish business community are invited to a special Sankta Lucia partnership breakfast between 8-10am at Saltwell Tower, Gateshead. 

A Sankta Lucia choir from Region Västra Götaland will bring a little Swedish Christmas magic to the region.

The event will be chaired by Caroline Theobald CBE, honorary consul for Sweden and chair of the North East Chapter of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

BIRMINGHAM

The Chamber is once again proud to promote the traditional Lucia service in Birmingham Cathedral on Monday, 10 December.

The service will be led jointly by staff from the Swedish church and the Cathedral.

The event is organised together with Handelsbanken, Sandvik and EBS European Business Solutions. 

LONDON

The annual Lucia organised by the Church of Sweden is this year taking place at Westminster Cathedral on 7 December. Limited tickets are still available and more information can be found here.
