Hälsa invites to a good sleep on King's Road

Hälsa, Art of Sweden has been producing luxury mattresses in Landskrona in southern Sweden for years, with a design inspired by nature and only the best materials, sourced from around the world. Hälsa´s aim is to convert your sleep experience to an art form and the company is now opening their first showroom in London.

Hälsa asks their customers the simple question: ‘How do you feel when you wake up’? The answer to this question will depend a lot on the individual’s sleep. Sleep plays a vital role in your wellbeing and contributes to good health throughout your life. During sleep, your body is working to build up the immune, nervous, skeletal and muscular systems. In fact, while you are sleeping, your brain is preparing for the next day and an essential function of sleep is also to remove waste products from the brain.

“During the day, we can [consciously] adjust our positions and change our behaviour, but at night we cannot. We really depend on our mattress,” writes Bart Haex, Professor of Biomechanics at the University of Leuven in Belgium in his book ‘Back and Bed: Ergonomic Aspects of Sleeping’.

The Hälsa philosophy is to combine crafts of the past with technology of the future. Each of their mattresses are crafted through innovative technologies and shaped with the hand skills of masters. Careful and skillful handiwork is employed in almost all stages of mattress production.

Hence at Hälsa, we have created eight luxury mattresses inspired by the landscape of Sweden, (Lappland, Småland, Norrbotten, Storsjön, Stockholm, Vänern, Umeå and Jämtland). Each mattress has a different support system, enabling you to pick the support which best suits your needs,” says Katarina Åstedt, one of the craftsmen in Landskrona, Sweden.

But while the rest of the retail industry seems to go digital in terms of sales, Hälsa is doing the opposite.

“We believe that mattresses are really important to people’s wellbeing. Hence, we want everyone to come and fi nd the best mattress for them and this cannot be done online - therefore we are not selling online. We could but we choose not to,” says UK Manager, Esra Altan Misztela, to The LINK.
