The Next Generation Leaders

The Next Generation Leaders is a mentorship programme which offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to benefit from an exclusive twelve-month programme of group workshops and individual mentoring by experienced and successful senior industry professionals from across the Swedish-British business community.

The Next Generation Leaders Mentorship Programme 2022 is now closed for application. 

Contents of the programme

This twelve months programme connects young and ambitious talents with experienced international business professionals from across all fields and sectors. The mentors are all experts in their fields, and have international business experience.

The programme includes a series of four joint group workshops and seminars, facilitated by the course director, and involving both mentors and mentees. In addition, mentors and mentees meet for one-to-one mentoring sessions over the course of the year, whether it’s face to face, over Zoom or phone. The programme is open to London based mentee applicants, ideally a couple of years into their career. Young professionals within the Chamber's member network are prioritised.

Ragnar Agnell

Ragnar Agnell

Partner, Centigo

Ragnar Agnell is Partner at Centigo which is the largest Sweden-founded and headquartered management consultancy with around 300 consultants. Ragnar is also co-founder of Centigo in the UK and Ireland.

Ragnar has a long career in management consulting, starting at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Stockholm and London in the early 90’s. He joined Centigo in 2003, one year after it was founded, and has been part of the early team of entrepreneurs who developed the Business Wellness Group to grow organically to almost 450 professionals, with an international client base and offices in Dublin, London, Oslo, Gothenburg, Malmo, Stockholm and Bangalore. Centigo is the oldest and largest of the sisters in the Business Wellness Group, which is based on a philosophy of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship that maintains the core elements of business in balance over time. Business Wellness enables the organisation to be both innovative & resilient and effective & focussed.

Ragnar has been engaged as a coach and mentor for more than thirty CEOs and founders of British and Irish companies in the software, food-tech, digital services, consumer products, industrial products, healthcare, e-business and logistics industries. Ragnar has through his career also been a coach and mentor for young professionals, helping them to go for and reach full potential, applying the so-called 4FP approach.

As a management consultant, Ragnar has mainly served his clients as a senior adviser and lead for strategy, innovation, sustainability, transformation and change initiatives. Ragnar’s international experience includes clients in Japan, South-East Asia, Central Europe, the Baltic Rim countries, the Nordics, Benelux, the UK, Ireland and the US.

Ragnar holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Uppsala University.

Chief Content Officer and Managing Director UK, Readly

Ranj Begley is the Managing Director of Readly UK, the ground-breaking, all-you-can-read digital magazine service, and Chief Content Officer for the whole of the international Readly operation which has a consumer footprint across 50 territories worldwide. Begley built the UK company from the bottom up, brick by brick, from its launch in 2014 to its current market-leading and award-winning position in 2020. Prior to founding Readly UK, Begley held a number of senior management positions in marketing and business development roles in publishing and fulfilment companies including Dovetail, Highbury House, CDS Global and UBM plc.

As President of Hult EF Corporate Education, Björn is heading up the B2B businesses within the EF group. His educational background is a masters degree from Stockholm School of Economics. 

Kevin Connors

Kevin Connors

General Manager, Nordea

Kevin Connors is General Manager of the London Branch of Nordea. He has had a long international commercial banking career with Nordea, including senior positions in Singapore, Stockholm, Helsinki and London. Prior to taking up international branch leadership positions since 2016, he has held various senior relationship management and business development roles supporting Nordic companies’ business activities across the globe.

Leadership Advisor & Executive Search Consultant, No Black Book Limited

David is the founding Director of No Black book Limited focusing on the industrial and net-zero emissions communities within the UK and Internationally. As a result of his leadership background and business experience, David has worked on a considerable number of assignments and: Helped find and select their next CEO’s, CFO’s, Group Commercial Director, COO, Manufacturing Directors, Financial Directors, CFO’s, as well as Non-Executive Director’s(NED’s) and other strategically important roles. Supported clients by helping them understand what capabilities their leadership team has, identify what is missing and how to best address the gaps to improve the performance of the business.

Director Public and Regulatory Affairs, Vattenfall UK

Lisa Christie is a corporate affairs specialist with over 20 years experience in providing strategic counsel to politicians, CEOs and their boards. She specialises in corporate reputation management, as well as in developing and delivering integrated influencing campaigns to protect and build business and brand value.  Lisa is currently working as director of public and regulatory affairs at Vattenfall, the Swedish state-owned energy company, where she manages the team that leads the company’s public and regulatory activity and stakeholder engagement. Away from work, Lisa is a trustee of Global Action Plan, a charity that is working for a green and thriving planet by helping people live more sustainable lifestyles

Dominic Fernandez joined Stena in 2006 initially in a senior finance role with Northern Marine Group in Scotland and later spent 6 years in Asia managing the Group’s ship agency and ship supply companies in China, Indonesia and Singapore from 2013 to 2019. A qualified Chartered Accountant and member oof ICAS, Dominic commenced his career with KPMG in 1995 and spent 5 years there including 2 years based in the United States primarily working with international clients related to the Oil & Gas sector, followed by 5 years in a commercial finance role in a listed telecommunications company. Having last spent the previous 2 years as Managing Director of Stena Rederi A/S in Copenhagen, Dominic took up the post of Managing Director of Stena UK based in London in 2021.

Tony is Head of Corporate Banking at Danske Bank London, managing a team helping Nordic  corporates established in the UK and UK corporates with Nordic business. He has over 25 years’ experience in banking with 12 of these supporting the Nordic market.

Richard Hildebrand specialises in all aspects of corporate work and in particular UK corporate finance transactions and UK and International mergers and acquisitions (both public and private). He is also experienced in other areas of corporate work including joint ventures, commercial contracts and general company advice. Richard has been particularly active in the Alternative Investment Market advising new entrants, listed companies and nominated advisers/brokers on a wide range of transactions across a variety of industry sectors.

Patrik Högberg is a Non-Executive Director Recover Nordic, member of Advisory Board Stockholm Business School and the Managing Director of Loomis UK. He has a long managerial experience within Loomis and previous to his career, he was the Scandinavian CEO of the Dutch publishing and software company Wolters Kluwer between 2006-2009. Further, Patrik was the Managing Director at Svensk Kassaaservice between 2001-2006, a subsidiary to the Swedish post where he was also a member of the top managing team previous to his position as Managing Director. Patrik has an executive MBA from Stockholm Business School and educational merits in board work and strategy. Patrik was a mentor during 2011-2017 in the Executive Mentoring Program at the Stockholm School of Economics Executive Education and 2014-2015 in Novares/Veckans Affarers Mentoring program.

Maj-Britt Krejcir is the CFO and Deputy UK Country Head of SEB in the UK, a role that includes direct responsibility for all staff and support functions. She has over twenty years of experience from the financial industry in various positions. Before taking the current role she was the Deputy CFO and Head of Business Control for the LC&FI division of SEB, a position she held since 2006.

Kristina is Director of Strategy, Planning & Insights at London & Partners which is the growth and destination agency for London. Her role is to set the company’s strategy and plans to promote the city as a place to invest, grow and visit. Kristina has a long career in mangement consulting at PA Consulting where she helped clients drive top line growth. In her consulting capacity, she  worked globally with clients like Astra Zeneca, Atlas Copco, Boots, GoreTex, InterContinental Hotels Group and Reckitt Benckiser. As a senior strategist, planner and program manager she thrives on solving knotty problems. Driving change at pace, taking new products to market, setting outcomes and driving productivity are all part of the day job. Instilling values and cultures and embedding diverse teams to make it happen is what makes the day job interesting. Kristina holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law and Georgetown University’s MBA programme, Washington D.C. She was also a scholar at the Chamber in the early 90s and is therefore hugely supportive of the Chamber’s approach of nurturing talent in London.          

Anneli Pinchard

Anneli Pinchard is an experienced HR Director at Saab. When Saab was founded in 1937, Saab’s primary aim was to provide military aircraft for Sweden. Today, Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and solutions from military defence in all domains to civil security. Anneli has a long history of providing extensive international HR and Business Support management both on a strategic and on an operational level.  Anneli has worked at a corporate level and provided support to small and medium sized businesses within the group. During her long working career at Saab she has held various positions and appointments: VP Head of HR Market Area Europe and EMEA, Chief Accountant, Company Secretary and UK Directorship. She has been based in the UK for the majority of her working career. Anneli has a wide experience of change management and organisational restructuring activities and has a strong business acumen. In addition to Saab, Anneli worked for 8 years at a UK based professional services firm, Goodwille, as a Senior Advisor. Her responsibilities included:  international assignments, business development, business management and operations.

Outside of work Anneli acts as a representative in London for Svenskar i Världen/Swedes Worldwide which is a non-profit and politically independent organisation that has existed since 1938. The organisation is working to increase and keep international experience and competence for Swedes Worldwide.

Pernille Sahl Taylor is an experienced communications professional specialising in reputation management. As Chief Communications Officer for Handelsbanken in the UK, she leads a team responsible for all internal and external communications, brand communications and sustainability. Prior to Handelsbanken, she worked at the strategic reputation management consultancy Lansons, where she led a broadcast and content production team and worked with a broad range of financial services companies helping them reach their business objectives. Her experience spans launching entrepreneurial businesses to managing the reputation of well-established brands. She has extensive experience coaching senior executives on corporate positioning and how to deliver their corporate messages effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Elisabet is a leadership strategist and business owner with extensive experience in how to build winning cultures and teams, facilitating change success with client organisations all around the world.  She has co-written three multi-award-winning leadership books. Her third book, Amazon bestselling “The Leader’s Guide to Impact” was released by Financial Times in April 2019. Elisabet is a leading voice on future leadership, leading transformation, cultural differences in an international world, and inclusive and innovative business cultures. She actively operates as a consultant, speaker and executive coach, having provided strategic leadership and tactical solutions to clients around the world, including American Express, H&M, Skanska, Greenpeace, SOS Children’s Villages and ABN-AMRO.

Charlotte has more than 30 years of experience in the equity markets with a broad general knowledge of most industries through a background in equity sales, corporate access and client relationship management in the City of London.  In her current role as Head of Client Relationship Management, she was instrumental in the implementation of MiFID II starting in 2018 and has since been in close contact with Carnegie’s institutional clients in the UK, continental Europe and the US primarily negotiating research fees. Most of her roles have been with Nordic investment banks, but she also gained experience of global equity markets while at Deutsche Bank. Charlotte has a MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Prior to joining SEB Helena was the head of the private client department for an international law firm based in London

Darren Wilson

Chief Executive Officer, LKAB Minerals

Darren Wilson is the Chief Executive Officer of LKAB Minerals which is part of the Swedish State owned iron ore mining company LKAB. The key objective for the Minerals division is to maximise value and sustainable resource efficiency from LKAB mining by-products through multiple routes to market. In addition, LKAB Minerals processes minerals internationally specialising in using mining and processing by-products into construction, agriculture and specialist value-adding industries. With operations across Europe and sales offices from Chicago to Shanghai, LKAB Minerals operates in 12 countries.

Darren joined LKAB in 2013 as the UK Managing Director having previously worked in various roles for the French Construction Materials company Saint-Gobain. In his time at LKAB, he has taken a leading role in both significantly growing the business as well changing the product focus towards sustainable material by-products. Outside of LKAB he is the Chair of the CBIs East Midlands Regional Council.
