Key Account Manager

Based: Park Royal, London NW10 7PP (80% Office based)

Hej. We’re ScandiKitchen and we began 14 years ago as a small café in London. We’ve since grown to be three-warehouses big and supply food from Sweden, Denmark and Norway across multi channels in the UK (both via the Independents (big as well as small) and Grocery).

We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to join our expanding our new Commercial Team as we plan to get our portfolio of Nordic food products onto the British dinner table.

This is a new role in our expanding Commercial Team that covers a range of different responsibilities. Primarily, it will be focused on growing our business through some of our major accounts in Wholesale and there’s also some management of key grocery customers involved. The business growth will be achieved both by bringing on board new accounts and growing our existing customers.

You’ll be working closely with our Founder and our Consultant Sales Director (who brings a huge array of experience from across the UK FMCG Sales sector) – and it’s a unique opportunity to grow your experience in Sales whilst also taking on a leading role in a Commercial Team.

The main responsibilities in this role:

  • Develop strong commercially led relationships with existing customers and use these to profitably grow our business.
  • Approach and recruit new customers, then grow our business with them.
  • Devise and implement effective sales campaigns in line with our strategy.
  • Financial and strategic management of key accounts.
  • Work on Key Accounts in the independent sector and work to take over Grocery account Management.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure all relevant Trade Marketing opportunities are maximised, including running trade show opportunities.

What you look like and bring to the table:

  • Solid experience in a similarly structured sales role a must, within food/FMCG. You will have done an account management role already, and you’re ready for a step up.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Knowledge of the UK FMCG market and sector and understanding of retailer’s needs, business strategy and operations.
  • You have proven experience in successfully building and utilising business relationships and networks.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and a strategic head on your shoulders – you have the ability to analyse both financial and business performance insight and recommendations to customers and decision-makers.
  • You are a multi-tasker with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and drive: we love to have people on our team who have big plans and see opportunities and who want to grow fast in their roles.
  • Strong in-person sales skills – and you have an infectious drive for results.
  • Strong strategic mindset with great logic and problem solving skills.
  • Great analytical and numerical skills (including knowing your way round Excel).
  • A team player who gets on with everyone.
  • A plus (but not essential): A Scandinavian language and/or knowledge of Scandinavian food.
