Nordic Marketing Associate

BlackRock is looking for a Nordic Marketing Associate based in the Stockholm or London office. The role will involve limited travel, on an ad-hoc basis, primarily in the Nordic region.

The following areas are covered by Nordic Marketing:

1. Strategy & Brand
Developing the Marketing strategy aligned with the local Business strategy as well as managing the local Brand
identity for BlackRock and iShares in line with the global Brand strategy. For institutional this strategy is aligned to
central investment themes. The team implements the marketing mix across multiple distribution and communications

2. Client Marketing & Client Communications
Implement a marketing mix across distribution channels and key client segments such as Banks, Private Banks,
Insurance Companies, Pension Funds, Family Offices, Financial Advisers, Discretionary Wealth Managers and end

Client Communication covers all local online and offline communication activities, including websites, social (LinkedIn)
email/newsletters, regular market updates, collateral and bespoke co-marketing programs.

3. Event Marketing
The local marketing event programme includes sponsored events, partnership events, seminars as well as
BlackRock’s proprietary event activity. Content will be aligned to the overall marketing themes with local adaptation as
relevant. The team carries overall responsibility for defining the local event strategy and takes ownership for the
successful delivery of all events in the region, including event logistics and organisation, and will liaise with the central
Events Team as applicable for larger events.

The Marketing team works closely with the regional EMEA Marketing teams and the centralised Marketing functions
(digital, brand and advertising, events and creative services), all located in London, UK.

Job overview / Key responsibilities
This role is based in our Stockholm or London office and will involve limited travel, on an ad-hoc basis, primarily within
the Nordic region.

The successful candidate will work closely with the existing Nordic marketing executive based in the Stockholm office
to deliver impactful marketing and communications programmes while the head of Nordic Marketing is on maternity

• Execute local marketing plan in line with the local, EMEA and Global goals & objectives
• Develop and manage local marketing campaigns (web, e-mail, social, SEA) on key investment themes in close
collaboration with central marketing teams
• Grow the business with marketing activities in co-operation with Sales by understanding client relationships and client
business models and develop and implement marketing programmes accordingly
• Implement, leverage and localise EMEA wide marketing campaigns in the local countries
• Work with the Digital Marketing Team, translation agencies and Compliance to maintain, update and improve local
• Planning, coordinating and executing of Marketing activities, such as
o emails/newsletters
o media activities (SEA, social)
• Measure campaigns and report back regularly on results. Help translate data and insights from marketing to
actionable new campaigns
• Provide a market relevant and high-quality literature range for the local markets liaising with translation agencies
• Work closely with Compliance to ensure all local marketing activities meet regulatory requirements

Qualifications and skills
• Excellent proven execution skills, hands on mentality
• Organisational, analytical and project management skills
• Creative and self-motivated, excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (especially in writing)
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams with multiple stakeholders
• Experience of marketing in the financial services sector (ideally asset management)
• Experience and/or interest in content marketing desirable
• Event management experience desirable
• Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, drive forward key initiatives and manage workflow on
simultaneous projects
• Excellent English language skills and a native Nordic language
• Experience with marketing automation tools such as Eloqua would be a plus
• Experience with content management tools, CRM and Adobe or Google Analytics would be a plus
• Experience of working in an international environment would be a plus
• Focus on data and metrics

Education requirement
• Degree in marketing, business studies, communications or similar, and/or equivalent professional qualification
