Welcome to this Virtual Roundtable featuring Andrew Bowie, Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party, Conservative MP for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine and Chair of the British-Swedish All-Party Parliamentary Group as guest speaker, discussing the ongoing EU withdrawal negotiations, the future competitiveness of the UK, the new trading relationship, and opportunities for British and Swedish businesses. We will also be joined by H.E. Mr Torbjörn Sohlström, Swedish Ambassador to the UK and Mikael Milhöj, Senior Analyst at Danske Bank who will share insight from their respective perspectives.

Since June 2017 Andrew has represented the people of West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine as their Member of Parliament in Westminster. In March 2018 he became the first new Scottish MP and the first of the 2017 intake, to be promoted when he was appointed as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. In January 2019 Andrew was promoted to Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. In August 2019 Andrew was appointed Vice Chair of the Conservative Party, his remit covers The Union and Youth within the party.

About the Virtual Roundtable

The SCC's Virtual Roundtables bring together tailored and differently composed, intimate groups of business leaders for interactive discussions. The event takes place virtually and follows the Chatham House Rule.
