Business Breakfast on Life Sciences

20 November, 8:00am - 10:30am

Freeths, 1 Vine Street, Mayfair, London W1J 0AH

Life sciences has rapidly become one of the most fundamental sectors driving innovation and economic growth in the UK and beyond. With a new government in place, including a recent Life Sciences Strategy, the UK stands at the forefront of a transformative vision to modernise the NHS and leverage the life sciences sector for sustainable growth. This strategy is set to reshape the landscape of healthcare, aiming to position the UK as a global leader in life sciences.

About the Business Breakfast

At this Business Breakfast, moderated by Marika Amartey, Head of the Science and Innovation Office for the Swedish Ministry of Climate and Enterprise at the Embassy of Sweden in London, we will be joined by Malin Wennergren, Director Digital Operations at Kry and Co- Country Manager at Livi UK, along Roger Greer and Tom Doughty, both Associate Directors at PLMR Healthcomms. They will outline the ambitious goals of this NHS strategy and discuss its implications for the industry. We’ll get to hear their insights on how the new Labour government plans to foster growth and innovation within the UK’s life sciences ecosystem.

Additionally, our discussion will explore the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in building a tech-driven NHS, as well as strategies for fostering collaboration between government and industry. Join us as we explore how this new vision can unlock the potential of the UK's healthcare system and the life sciences sector, paving the way for a healthier future for all.

The SCC’s Business Breakfasts bring together tailored and differently composed, intimate groups for interactive roundtable discussions and great speakers. The format is informal and under Chatham House Rule.
