19 June 2019
On Monday 17 June, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK hosted its first Council and Patrons’ Forum as well as the Swedish-British Reception and Dinner in Stockholm.
The Forum gathered the Chamber’s Council and Patronship at the SEB offices in Stockholm. During the day, issues affecting Swedish-British businesses were discussed, such as economy, Brexit and digitalisation.
Robert Bergqvist, Chief Economist at SEB, illuminated the current state of the world economy. Subsequently, Peter Burman, President of Corporate Solutions at EF Education First, examined the topic of digitalisation and disruption in the educational sector. The Forum generated valuable insights regarding how the Chamber optimally can create value for the network.
In the evening, the Chamber hosted its very first Swedish-British Reception and Dinner in Stockholm, with a reception at the British Ambassador's Residence, kindly hosted by Peter Ruskin, Deputy Head of Mission to the British Embassy Stockholm. The dinner featured guest speaker Magnus Hall, President & CEO of Vattenfall, who conveyed his thoughts about climate change, electrification and the transition to a fossil-free society. The dinner was hosted in partnership with the British Embassy and the British-Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
The Council and Patrons’ Forum as well as the Swedish-British Dinner were kindly sponsored by the SCC patron EF Education First.
