New travel restrictions due to new variant of the coronavirus
21 December 2020
Due to the identification of a new variant of the coronavirus, new restrictions may apply to international travel because of domestic restrictions. Different rules apply in different parts of the UK. Those in tier 4, are for example not permitted to travel abroad apart from some exceptions, such as work purposes.
Also, other countries have, or are planning to close borders or bring in new quarantine rules for travellers from the UK.
Visit the UK government's web page for travel advice for more information and details on which rules apply to you.
