Can your most junior employee completely revolutionise your business?
How do you identify the ideas that will become the next startup unicorns?
These are just some of the questions that will be answered during this year's Entrepreneurship Forum. We will dive into the theme Tech Outside the Box, looking into how innovative thinking within the tech sector has led to a flourishing Swedish startup scene in London.
Moderated by Cathy White, Founder & Director of CEW Communications and Director at GeekGirl Meetup UK, three fantastic speakers will share their stories and give some inspiration and advise on how to succeed in the ever-growing tech and startup scenes. These talks will be followed by a tech exhibition showcasing the latest work of some of the Chamber's most innovative Member companies and how they have carved out a unique niche for themselves in their respective industry by thinking outside the box.
CEO and Founder, Quinyx
While working part-time at McDonald’s, Erik Fjellborg saw great potential for improving the scheduling of their part-time workforce. Said and done, Fjellborg developed a new scheduling software and ended up selling the finished product to all McDonald's restaurants in Sweden. This is the origin of his company Quinyx, a workforce management company now present in 6 international markets. Fjellborg’s talk will focus on his extraordinary entrepreneurial journey and how innovation can come from the least expected places within an organisation.
Northzone is the venture capital firm behind successful startups such as Spotify, Klarna and iZettle. Among the over 100 technology companies in Northzone's portfolio, Jessica focuses on the digital and consumer sectors, with a special passion for e-commerce and marketing. Prior to joining Northzone, Jessica co-founded global meal kit delivery service HelloFresh, where she spearheaded the global marketing operation and grew the business from zero to $50 million in 24 months. With experience from both running startups and investing in them, Nilsson's talk will bridge the gap between the Dragon's Den and the pitching deck and pinpoint what it means to think outside the box - both to be discovered as a startup but also to find those rare needles in the startup haystack that have the potential of becoming the next unicorns.
