Handelsbanken taking on the Big Five lenders

[2012-08-01] Handelsbanken is considered an alternative to the big British banks.

The Telegraph recently wrote about the upcoming banks that are taking on the biggest banks in the UK.

One of these banks is Handelsbanken, a Swedish bank, which entered the British market in 2000 and currently has 118 branches throughout the country.

In a country where many people distrust the banking sector after the Libor scandal, one of Handelsbanken’s appeals might be that its UK chief executive, Anders Bouvin, never takes a bonus.
