Stockholm, a great place for business Stockholm has received a number of prestigious awards in fDi’s measurement “Cities and Regions of the Future 2012/2013”. The measurement based on facts from over 200 European cities and more than 140 regions and is divided into seven categories. With great financial potential and business friendliness, Stockholm took home the prize as the Overall Winner in terms of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) and won the prize as the Overall Winner in the category of Quality of Life. The region came second in terms of Business Friendliness and third place in the Economical Potential. The mayor of Stockholm Sten Nordin, stated that the great news proves that the Stockholm region is seen as strong and competitive in the world, which hopefully continues to strengthen its position in the future.
