Organisation

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK is governed by the Council, which is elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting each year. The Council appoints the Managing Director. In order to maintain high efficiency, smaller committees are set up to work on specific policy issues within the Chamber.

The Council and the Committees
The Council constitutes representatives from large and small Swedish, British and international companies. The Swedish Ambassador to the United Kingdom, H.E. Nicola Clase is Honorary President of the Council.

The Chairman is nominated by the Council and approved by the Members. The current Chairman is Paul Von Der Heyde (MD, Non Executive Director)

Six committees have also been set up as sounding boards and support for the Secreteriat. These include the Executive, Finance, Marketing, Membership and Nomination Committees, as well as the Industrial Forum.

The Secretariat
The Secretariat deals with the day-to-day running of the Chamber. The Secretariat is in charge of the business services, organises events, produces various publications, recruits and maintains the Membership.

The Regional Chapters
The Chamber offers a network which covers the whole of the UK. In order to reach potential contacts outside the Home Counties, local Chapters have been established in Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Immingham.
